Justin has a passion to share a message of encouragement, hope and redemption in incredibly diverse locations such as maximum security prisons, boardrooms, church conferences and schools around the world. Each environment features an audience that could include someone incarcerated for life, a teenager needing direction as they make important life choices, an executive needing inspiration or an oppressed people in a distant country. Justin inspires people to fight life’s battles to become the people God created them to be.
During his teenage years, Justin launched an athletic career that netted a national high school wrestling championship, saw him train as an Olympic wrestling hopeful and eventually a promising MMA career. Justin became the youngest fighter to appear on the tenth season of the UFC/Spike TV reality show The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights in 2009 leading to a debut in the UFC at just 22 years of age. With a professional record standing at 13-2, Justin is currently on hiatus from fighting professionally as he pursues his education, launches his speaking ministry and develops his advocacy project.
As an MMA fighter, Justin used his skills to defeat people physically for sport. He eventually realized a greater impact could be made using the platform now at his disposal. The same hope and truth God used to pull Justin out of a destructive lifestyle is the reason Justin fights for those who cannot fight for themselves. His mission is to share Jesus’ love with a semi-nomadic group in Congo, the Mbuti Pygmies where only 1% have heard of Jesus. Mbuti Pygmies are persecuted, tortured and denied citizen status in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
